Antigravity + xCloud
Manage Your Hosting from Antigravity with xCloud
Antigravity is Google's agentic coding product, available as an IDE, a command-line tool and the Antigravity 2.0 app. Connected to xCloud through the MCP server, its agent deploys repositories, takes backups, updates WordPress and diagnoses failures while you stay in the editor.

Setup
How Do I Connect Antigravity to xCloud?
Point Antigravity at the xCloud MCP server, approve access in your browser, then ask. The whole thing takes a couple of minutes.
Add xCloud in View raw config
In the Antigravity IDE, click the three dots at the top of the agent side panel, choose MCP Servers, then Manage MCP Servers, then View raw config. Paste this into mcp_config.json and save. The field is serverUrl: it is the only remote URL property in Antigravity's documented configuration, so do not write url or httpUrl.
{ "mcpServers": { "xcloud": { "serverUrl": "https://app.xcloud.host/mcp" } } }Sign in, then check the connection
Open Agent settings (Cmd+, on Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows and Linux), go to Customizations and click Authenticate next to xcloud. Approve the teams and the access level in the browser, copy the authorization code it shows, paste it into the settings panel and click Submit. Then ask this in the agent panel.
Who am I on xCloud? No browser sign-in? Use an API key
Create a token with the mcp:invoke scope plus the read abilities for the areas it will use (read:servers and read:sites, with read:billing and read:addons for billing and add-on tools) and the matching write: abilities if it should change things in Settings, Developers, API Tokens and add it as a header. Replace YOUR_TOKEN with the token, which contains a pipe character, and never paste it into chat. Keep this file out of git.
{ "mcpServers": { "xcloud": { "serverUrl": "https://app.xcloud.host/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" } } } }Check it worked
Antigravity handles OAuth itself for servers that support dynamic client registration, which xCloud does, so serverUrl is all the setup it needs. Antigravity stores the access token locally and refreshes it. A machine without a browser passes an API key that carries the mcp:invoke scope and the read or write abilities it needs in headers.

Which Way Should I Connect Antigravity to xCloud?
The MCP server exposes one tool per customer-facing xCloud operation and leaves out eleven internal ones that only the Public API carries; the skills add workflow know-how on top of an MCP connection and, on their own, only read access. All three are free with every account and differ in what you set up and what holds the credentials.
| xCloud MCP server | xCloud Agent Skills | Public API | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terminal needed | No (recommended for Antigravity) | Yes for the plugin or ClawHub install | Yes |
| Authentication | OAuth sign-in, or an API key with mcp:invoke plus read or write abilities (recommended for Antigravity) | The MCP connection, or a read-scoped API token | API token with scoped abilities |
| What it adds | One tool per customer-facing xCloud operation (188 today) (recommended for Antigravity) | Workflow know-how: routing, dry run, confirm, poll, diagnose | Raw REST for your own code |
| Changes to your infrastructure | Yes, after confirmation (recommended for Antigravity) | Only through a connected MCP tool, after confirmation | Yes, with write scopes |
| Best for | Most people; every MCP client (recommended for Antigravity) | Agents that run shell commands and read skills | CI jobs, dashboards and long-running loops |
Background
What Is Antigravity?
Antigravity is Google's agentic coding product. An AI agent plans and carries out coding work for you, reading your project, editing files and running commands. It comes as the Antigravity IDE, a command-line tool and the Antigravity 2.0 app, and Google's MCP documentation covers all three.
Antigravity speaks the Model Context Protocol and keeps its servers in one mcp_config.json with a single mcpServers object. The file lives at ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json for every project, or at .agents/mcp_config.json inside a workspace. A remote server is declared with serverUrl, and optional headers, oauth, disabled and disabledTools.
Pointing that file at xCloud gives the agent one tool per customer-facing xCloud operation. A deploy, a WordPress update or a failed-build diagnosis then happens in the panel where you write the code, and by default Antigravity asks before it runs an MCP tool you have not allowed.
Why Antigravity with xCloud?
Manage hosting beside the code
The agent already has your repository open. Ask it to deploy and it hands the URL and branch to xCloud, previews the site and asks once before creating anything.
Two approval layers
Antigravity runs MCP tools you have not configured in Ask mode, so you approve each call. xCloud adds its own explicit confirmation for anything that creates, deploys, updates, reboots, deletes or buys.
One config for IDE, CLI and 2.0
The mcp_config.json format is the same in the Antigravity IDE, the CLI and Antigravity 2.0, so the same serverUrl entry works wherever you open a project.
Guides
What Can Antigravity Do on xCloud?
One guide per hosting job, each with the Antigravity setup, the xCloud tools involved, a settings reference, example prompts and the limits that apply.
- Deploy from Git with AntigravityTurn a GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket repository into a live site on a server you already have.
- Run Docker apps with AntigravityRun a Dockerfile or Docker Compose app on a Docker server, keep it backed up and recover it when a deploy fails.
- Install one-click apps with AntigravityPick an app from the xCloud catalogue, check it fits your server, install it and get the login details.
- Manage WordPress with AntigravityKeep WordPress sites updated, scanned and healthy, and create new ones, by asking in plain words.
- Back up and stage sites with AntigravityCheck that your sites are backed up, take a backup before a risky change, and open a staging copy to test it on.
- Manage SSL and domains with AntigravityCheck a site's certificate and DNS, install or renew HTTPS, and see which domains point at it.
- Manage servers with AntigravitySee how your servers are doing, change services and runtimes, tighten security and reboot with proof it worked.
- Troubleshoot a broken site with AntigravityFind out why a site returns a 500, 502 or 503, shows a critical error or has stopped answering.
- Speed up a slow site with AntigravityFind out why a site is slow, from real numbers, and learn which fix is a dashboard switch.
- Secure sites and servers with AntigravityFind vulnerable sites, manage server firewall rules and banned IPs, and see which protections are on.
Example prompts
What Can You Ask Antigravity to Do on xCloud?
Type these as written and swap in your own site and server names. Reads and routine actions such as backups, cache purges, PageSpeed scans and vulnerability scans run straight away; creating, deploying, updating, rebooting, deleting, buying or starting a broken-link scan stops and asks first.

- Use serverUrl. Antigravity's documented remote property is serverUrl, so an entry written with url or httpUrl, as other clients use, is not the form to rely on.
- OAuth in Antigravity ends with a pasted authorization code: copy the code from the browser tab and submit it under Settings, Customizations. The sign-in is not complete until you do.
- Antigravity's permission policy can allow tools with patterns such as mcp(xcloud/tool_name). Allow read tools one by one; a wildcard like mcp(xcloud/*) would also skip the prompt for changes.
- Hosting Antigravity on an xCloud server is a different product. This page is about Antigravity managing your hosting.

Antigravity and xCloud: Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers about connecting Antigravity, what it may change and what it costs.
How do I connect Antigravity to xCloud?
In the Antigravity IDE, open the three-dot menu in the agent side panel, choose MCP Servers, Manage MCP Servers and View raw config. Add an xcloud entry under mcpServers with serverUrl set to https://app.xcloud.host/mcp, save, then click Authenticate next to xcloud under Settings, Customizations and approve access in the browser.
Why does Antigravity use serverUrl instead of url?
Because serverUrl is the property Antigravity's MCP documentation defines for remote Streamable HTTP and SSE servers. Write serverUrl for xCloud, not url or httpUrl, which other clients use. If the server does not connect, check that field name first.
How does sign-in work, and do I need an API key?
Antigravity supports servers that use dynamic client registration, and xCloud does, so no client ID is needed. You click Authenticate, approve the teams and access level in the browser, then paste the authorization code back into settings. An API key is only for machines without a browser, sent as an Authorization header with the mcp:invoke scope and the abilities it needs.
Where is mcp_config.json?
Globally at ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json, or per project at .agents/mcp_config.json. The View raw config button in the IDE opens the global file. Both use the same mcpServers format.
Does this work in the Antigravity CLI and Antigravity 2.0?
Yes, the same mcp_config.json entry applies, because Google documents one configuration format for the IDE, the CLI and Antigravity 2.0. In the CLI you can type /mcp to open the MCP manager and see whether xcloud is connected.
Can Antigravity change my servers without asking?
Not for the operations xCloud gates. Antigravity asks before it runs an MCP tool you have not allowed, and xCloud adds its own check. Reads run straight away, routine actions such as backups, PageSpeed scans and vulnerability scans run without a prompt, and creating, deploying, updating, rebooting, deleting, buying or starting a broken-link scan is refused unless the call carries an explicit confirmation.
Is hosting Antigravity on xCloud the same thing?
No. This page connects Antigravity to xCloud so the agent can manage your servers and sites. Running Antigravity itself on an xCloud server is covered on the Google Antigravity hosting page.
Is it free to use Antigravity with xCloud?
The xCloud side is free: the MCP server, the skills and the Public API are included with every xCloud account, including the free plan. Antigravity itself is provided by Google under its own terms and plans.
